Through state and federal funds, the Nevada Career Explorer is provided by the Nevada State Library. Our partners at Headed2, LLC are national leaders in data driven workforce development strategies, have developed the Nevada Career Explorer. We are confident in this resource, and believe it ensures the career information people need is relevant to Nevada’s individual communities. Through Nevada’s public libraries, the database is readily accessible and easy to use. The Nevada Career Explorer helps align education programs in ways that prepare residents for employment in Nevada’s priority occupations. Additionally, it helps to ensure working-age people are educated about Nevada’s in-demand careers, related career clusters and career pathways. Combined, this allows librarians and workforce development advisors to provide people with good information that drives smart decisions that guide future earning potential by choosing the right continuing education or training.
Nevada Career Explorer is a proven, successful career exploration and planning system designed especially for jobseekers of all working ages. Educators, information professionals and counselors will also benefit from the wealth of information on 900 occupations from the Occupational Information Network (O*Net) database.
Users are encouraged to work through the Interest Profiler, Work Importance Profiler, and Assess Yourself assessment based on the Holland Codes for self-exploration. Comprehensive information on 900 occupations includes state specific wages, worker attributes, job characteristics, and much more. There are 300 career videos that give users a snap shot of the featured occupation. Job openings from Indeed are easily accessible within each occupations profile. Please continue on investigating from the Resource link where other useful resources are listed.
